Part 5: Advertise
You can advertise your site on Google and on other websites that get a lot of traffic. As an example, when I was doing the marketing for an online school, I was interested in advertising their product on a teacher’s site. I found http://www.eslteachersboard.com/ and saw that they displayed ads of other companies or products.
I contacted the website owner and found that they charged $500/three months for a small ad.
The next question was, “how many visitors does the website get?” I went to www.trafficestimate.com and saw that the site had about 300,000 visitors per month. At that point, I created an ad, sent it to the teachers’ website and received some traffic from it.
Google Adwords is a challenging environment unless you know what you’re doing. Thankfully, Google wants you to be successful so they have created a full training program so that you can learn, step by step, how to be a successful Adwords expert. You can join their program for free at http://www.google.com/intl/en/adwords/professionals/. They even have certification exams so that you can become a Certified Partner.
